ARTISAN TURRON FROM JIJONA (ALICANTE)

Typical Spanish sweets internationally acclaimed. These are all artisan products made without additives or preservatives using only ingredients of the best quality. They use roasted almonds and dried fruits, either whole or crushed, mixed with honey, chocolate or egg yolk. Flat and rectangular in shape. The Jijona turrón uses crushed almonds with honey and the best is being produced in the city of Jijona where it has to adhere to stringent legislation. They are made following ancestral processes. Alicante turrón is similar to Jijona but they use egg white as well and it is mixed with wooden shovels.
